ICAM 2017

[Publication Date: July 2017]

On June 18th – 23rd 2017, the 34th edition of the International Conference on Alpine Meteorology (ICAM) has taken place in Reykjavík, Iceland.

ICAM is part of a conference series that is organised every two years with the aim to foster attention in the mountain meteorology field. ICAM topics focus on dynamical / air quality / ice processes and weather prediction in the European Alpine area, where the orography makes the terrain complex and land-atmosphere interactions more challenging to understand. ICAM topics are presented not only as research-based results but also as operational applications. One of ICAM aims is in fact to promote the translation of scientific knowledge into pragmatic situations, e.g. by tackling practical issues strictly related to mountain meteorology.

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Trento, partner of the BrennerLEC project, has presented the project through a scientific poster. The poster has included some technical details about the diagnostic and forecasting models that will be implemented and about the field monitoring activities for the assessment of the expected benefits.
